I tried another friend's paddle a few days ago and it made a massive difference. I don't disagree with you that once you get into a certain range, I'm not good enough to know the subtle differences.

It's time to upgrade from a beginner paddle, and there are some great prime day deals. I'm trying to decide between a Selkirk Luxx or a Joola Persius or Hyperion. I think it's kind of six in one hand, a half dozen in the other, so I'm leaning towards the Selkirk because they have cooler colors.
