And simultaneously pursue however many Constitutional amendments it will take to rein in the President and re-establish basic guardrails and rule of law constraints on executive power.

As long as the Democrats keep trying to play fair and act high minded, there is zero motivation for Republicans to agree to any limitations. They need to get 100% of the same targeting and attacks that Trump is making to bring home the need for reform.

And it has to be amendments. The current Republican Supreme Court has made it clear that they will facilitate any abuse of power by their team regardless of laws, on the basis of their unitary executive interpretation, despite it being utterly contrary to the entire history of the foundation of the country and the drafting of the Constitution. It’s not perfect, but an explicit repudiation of that dictatorial fanfic constitutional philosophy in the actual document might limit their egregious violation of clear text, laws, and precedent.
