Marte, not moved to RF that long ago, just robbed a game tying HR to preserve the game for the Reds. Reds a half game behind the Mets going into tonight. Diamondbacks currently getting housed by LA. Both reds and Dbacks have tiebreaker over the Mets…who are starting an inexcusably bad lineup tonight in a must win game.

Who will suck the least to take that last spot? Anyone’s guess.

On the AL side, the Tigers epic collapse has saved the Mets from being noticed as the 4th worst team in MLB since June. I’m not sure there’s even words for that whole Cleveland-Detroit situation. Meanwhile, don’t look now, but the Tigers might not even make the playoffs.

I’m the Alonso Mourning GIF watching the Mets this week. Ready for this pathetic mess to be over….but also “well, the Reds and Dbacks both lost again…maybe the Mets could squeeze in.”

It is a crime that one of these awful NL teams will get in, but it makes for entertainment down the stretch.
