Previous Message because historically it's not uncommon for me to not like a Taylor Swift album upon first listen and then wind up loving it, and I haven't even made it all the way through this one yet (mainly because I don't like it). That being said, my intial impression is that the it's lyrically weak, a mess stylistically, and doesn't have any certified bangers. I totally disagree that it's better than TTPD, and I totally disagree that people didn't want a pop album, I think that's exactly what they wanted, just that no one was ready for a song about Travis's dick. I'm going to keep listening and I assume it will grow on me, but man, it feels disappointing. It's funny to me that she has defend her at all cost core fans, and hate her no matter what she does people as well. Seems like there can be a middle ground. Previous Message and daughter being part of the herd. It’s miles better than the last one and there’s probably 3-4 radio singles on there. What more do people want from this kind of music? I’m not sure anyone is forcing anything. Critics want her to be a covid induced borefest so they’re killing her for the album since it’s full on pop again.
