It's really killed my offseason interest. Offseason discussion just feels pointless
With the complete roster turnover + not knowing whether or not the overseas players get cleared, it feels like there's no point in discussing anything until they're actually on the floor and playing games in November. I'm sure it's also that everyone hasn't just given up on Illinois football by early October, like in years past, so that draws away attention somewhat from basketball. That's a problem I'm glad to have.  Previous Message I think it makes the fan experience far worse. There have been multiple changes happening simultaneously so it’s hard for me to definitively isolate how much the new free agency and massive annual roster turnover has specifically contributed, but my interest has cratered over the past 3-4 years. We benefit by being able to play this game better than most. Kids get to make their own decisions about where they play. It’s like pure capitalism out there. It’s beautiful.
