SGOV yields over 4% and has very low duration
The shutdown is a wildcard but once resolved it should be very low risk. Or you could buy 1 month treasuries direct and roll them over. Depending how much money you are investing the juice may not be worth the squeeze. Previous Message but I'm lazy Edit: also, I'm getting better rates than all of those via the fidelity cash management account (not FDIC backed) but even my ally bank savings account (FDIC backed) is giving me 3.4% apy. Edit 2: my Apple Pay Cash (FDIC backed) is giving me 3.65% apy. Previous Message Anybody have any helpful information or place to do research? Here are the rates we got quoted by our bank. I imagine there has to be better options out there. New Funds 5 months at 4.05% APY 7 months at 3.75% APY 11 months at 3.50% APY 17 months at 3.30% APY 23 months at 3.25% APY 26 months at 3.25% APY 33 months at 3.25% APY Existing Funds 8 months at 3.50% APY 10 months at 3.55% APY 14 months at 3.40% APY 28 months at 2.90% APY

- I haven't bought a CD in a while, but I would've expected the rate to be higher with a longer term * - jjlocke923 October 9, 2025, 14:24:41
