If you at any point need to drive to go anywhere at almost any time it is a nightmare. Traffic jams are rush hour level for 3 hours every morning and evening on all highways and most surface roads, and are at that level from 11-5 in most places on Saturdays and Sundays.

Bethesda and Arlington are as cool as any suburb in the country.

the District is actually quite compact, although designed by a madman.

Always felt like a place I’d be more than happy living.

Nevermind that I’ve been primarily working at my client site since last year. I was working at home M’s and F’s but now that’s gone away, I am now working at our designated office.
The good news is that there is a chick-fil-a one block away.
The bad news is that since I’m only 20% in our office, I don’t get a cubicle but rather open space. Commuting time went from 10min to 40min but it’s all bus/Metro and it’s reimbursed. I pass by my client office to get here and if needed, I can break my day up.
I also just got I L L’ed at lunch.
Bottled sodas are $1 at the client site but $3 around here. Will need to bring my own Diet Pepsi.
I am near GWU so eating options are decent.
Met up with our agency head and his deputy which I haven’t seen in years. Nice to see them. A number of co-workers who haven’t seen me since leaving for Florida 18 years ago were pleasantly surprised I was back.
