After leading the Illini to a victory over UCLA in the prestigious 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in 2011, Vic was hired as assistant HC and DC at UNC.

In 2014, he returned to Troy, where he had been DC in 2003, as DC. He remained there until 2019 when he became DC at West Virginia. In 2022, Terry Bowden hired him as DC at Louisiana-Monroe. He is now Outside LB coach for the Warhawks.
