Detroit wasn’t even to midfield yet and he knew it was over. I’m probably reading (and hoping) too much into it, but I feel like Ben has established a lot of clout in that building and I hope this is a sign that he’s going to hold Poles’ feet to the fire this offseason on finding a way to fix this defense.
I don’t know how he’s going to do it since Poles really botched last offseason and now we’re in a cap crunch, but Ben doesn’t strike me as a guy who is going to be super patient. Especially with the skill players we’ve accumulated on offense, the clock ticking on Caleb’s rookie deal, and an aging interior OL that is core to our success, I feel like there’s going to be a push to not let a terrible defense ruin the opportunity that could exist next season.
