around and inside the tall buildings with increased shadowing, other RF interference, etc., etc. where the signal tends to drop out.
I'd guess it's not just trying to drive the sports radio audience, but also for Cubs games.

apparently a bill has been put forth to force them to keep AM radio, doing an FM simulcast will give the station cover until that happens and/or if the bill doesn't pass.
as for why Audacy, who owns the station, did this...no idea. but now I'll need to find a new station for my last preset
