Constantius II Is an interesting guy
One of the Late Empire guys that is really able to hold it together. The failure of Julian the Apostate in Mesopotamia is the first big crack in the downfall of the West. Previous Message Doesn’t really go into his conversion story, the battle of the Milvian Bridge, etc. Previous Message The conversion story is pretty clearly false, but I read a book that made a convincing case for Constantine being raised Christian by secretly Christian parents. It also suggested that the Diocletian persecution might have been partly intended to smoke out Constantius.
