The Coleman year is a case in point. We played drop that entire year, which was nonsensical. If there ever was a roster built to hedge and recover, that was the one.
We either switch or play drop, neither of which are ever going to provide much resistance against good guards in ball screens. And we largely have to do that because of the current roster builds prioritizing bigs who shoot.

And I think 2024 would have been as well had Coleman's knees not given him so much trouble.
I do think he's correct in favoring offense over defense, too.
But I do agree it probably limits the ceiling in getting the program over the hump.
