both shoot a ton of 3s. If there was ever a time to be flexible with the “defend the twos at all costs” strategy, this is the weekend for it.

I’m not sure either team really has any superior driving threats.

They shoot the 3 really well with a bunch of stretch 4s. Terrified of late close outs from Tomi, Mirk and Z.

Fortunately they don’t do anything else well and are terrible at the rim. But we have been terrible of late at preventing and guarding 3s

Plus there was some crazy stat that Ivy League teams have won their first round matchup 12/14 times (or something similar). Again, just the grizzle talking. I hope.

Gonzaga’s front court is pretty scary, I might actually like our chances better against Houston in terms of matchups. At least we have a size advantage against Houston. And of course Gonzaga raises the Adam Miller haunting potential. His 31% 3P% (25% in WCC) notwithstanding.

I might rather have Miami if Wilson was playing but I think with no Wilson you have to prefer UNC. And Miami beat UNC head to head with Wilson. Their kenpom rankings are almost identical (again with Wilson)

In terms of lurkers I’d rather have St Marys than BYU for sure.

Then on the other side of the bracket I’d rather have Florida than Arizona, and if we’re really stretching it I like Nebraska / Vanderbilt over Arkansas / Wisconsin.

Of course getting St Louis compared to us getting UNC in SC and Houston in Houston probably throws it all out the window. I’m just making conversation here.

I’m irritated at myself for being disappointed at a 3 seed, so I’m done with it. Stupid perspective.
