Not at all for political reasons, but honestly I kind of was.

It meant the world to them and their fans, quite clearly does not for US fans and likely most of the players. Tons of people from that country are waking up today feeling like we would if the Illini had won a national championship last night, versus every US fan never giving it a second thought within an hour of the game ending (had we won).
I know I’m painting with a broad brush and obviously there are some people that care, but the US treated it like an exhibition tournament and Venezuela treated it like the biggest games of their lives. It felt a little hollow rooting for the US team to win with that dynamic in play.
