We all lamented having Purdue steal our 2 seed, but in the end it worked out better for us. We got what turned out to be a fairly weak 2 seed and now have a 9 seed between us and the Final Four. Meanwhile Purdue has to beat what is now widely accepted to be the best team in the field in order to get there.

Of course the lesson from the fable would also warn that this can flip on us again, where having Iowa in our path seems like a great thing but it would hurt even more to lose to them. But we won’t worry about them.
