Although there were two other fairly senior generals who were also dismissed, so maybe this is part of Hegseth and the admin’s larger ongoing efforts to purge the government of independent expertise and install toadies and political hacks in their place. And the timing is just coincidental—they are basically always in the middle of something that’s illegal, idiotic, or both, so the fact that a purge coincides with that doesn’t mean it’s related.
