Edited by EffinIllini on June 9, 2026, 8:39:25 Medical doomscrolling at this point probably isn't too helpful. As to getting older, yeah it sucks. Found out this week while we were on vacation that one of mrs. Effin's friends was just diagnosed with acute leukemia last Friday. They were in Yellowstone on a family vacation when their son dislocated his shoulder. Took him to a hospital to get checked out where she also said she wasn't feeling well. Ran a few tests, and her and her husband were on a plane to Barnes Hospital in STL the next morning. Last we heard doctors were figuring out a treatment plan.

I hope it's nothing (and I didn't think much of it at the time of my annual blood tests), but my PCP is referring me to a urologist because my PSA score jumped by 0.83 over the past year. It's still in the normal range, but apparently, this raised concerns.
And of course, I have pretty significant health anxiety already, so I'm really nervous about the follow-up. Fun times.
