I know it's never pleasant-sounding at all to hear the words "foot injury, big man, surgery" uttered in the same sentence when describing a situation like this.

Let's all just back off the edge of the cliff folks. We got PLENTY of time for Mirk to heal.

FWIW David Mirkovic would have been my pick for NPOY this coming year. Had been told pretty clearly by Illinois that he looked absolutely elite this summer and is going to take a massive leap.

Bummer on his foot surgery. Hopefully recovers quickly and it doesn't impact his year
