You’d still have to eat like $4-5M of dead cap for each of these guys, but there are a lot of guys they can clear out this offsesdon to free up big chunks of cap space - Dayo, Jarrett, Kmet, Gordon in particular. If Sweat falls off a cliff this year you can clear an extra $20M by cutting him too.

And then on top of a big chunk of cap space you add in…

- Getting Bryant back
- 2nd year for Thiebemann
- 2nd year for Logan Jones
- Hopefully a much healthier version of Trapilo
- Plus hopeful natural progression that continues for guys like Caleb, Loveland, Burden, Odunze, Monangai, etc.

If we see the right things from Caleb and some of the other younger players that matter, even if the shitty defense and reversal of last season’s pixie dust magic derails the team success this season, I could still see this season being a necessary step in the right direction for the franchise even if the discourse will be nauseating.
