 Previous Message it's not cost free, and i'm not talking about from a risk taking perspective. if your team doesn't have a lot of depth and you blitz blitz blitz you're going to run out of steam bigly and lose the game in the 2H. we saw Duke do that last year. they were completely out of gas in the 2H despite stopping us in the 1H and we put it on them. sometimes your rushing 3 because you can't afford over the course of the game to blitz blitz blitz every time you're in a passing situation because you are going to kill your team physically. Mickey Andrews, one of the best D Coordinators ever, at a place that had a tremendous amount of depth (Florida State in the Bowden era) used to say he's going to blitz 8 or drop 8. Anything in between was no good. Lot of wisdom there. it's a 60 minute game and you only have to win at the very end of it. Same with calling yourself a 3-3-5 or a 4-2-5. There are so many variations that it is hard to distinguish them. a 3-3-5 team will routinely line up with at least 4 down linemen on every play.
