we were out west on a trip and when we pulled into the hotel the first day he noticed a TRH in the strip mall behind the hotel and decided that's where we needed to go for dinner that night. I usually like to try out some local places when I travel for work but if that's what he's up for it's cool with me.

it ends up being the two of us and one of our sales reps for dinner. He orders his steak medium rare because, as he puts it "I actually want it medium but they always over cook at these places." ok, I figure they have a chart on the wall in the kitchen that says "for this type of steak and this level of done-ness cook for this long on each side." It's not a michelin star place so you should set your expectations accordingly.

Food comes out and he immediately cuts into it, tells the waiter that it's undercooked, and sends it back.

comes back out and he cuts into another section...still somehow undercooked. sends it back.

comes back out again and he cuts into another section...now it's overcooked. sends it back.

meanwhile the sales rep and I are just about done with our food. Nothing wrong with how either meal was cooked.

He eventually gets a totally new steak brought out by the manager, who apologizes and asks if this is cooked to coworker's liking. He says yes, and after the manager leaves he tells us "it's actually not but I didn't want to make a scene."

I made sure to leave the waitress a larger than normal tip to cover for him.
