I doubt anyone is looking through the 15-year old tweets of the Portland PBP guy.
Tell him to be better, maybe some in-house counseling, but what they did seems very extreme.
Agree with everyone who suggests going through your old social media posts and deleting stuff. Never a bad idea even without a high profile job.
