Bought himself a nice early 20th century 3BR single family house in a fringe neighborhood for the low 100's. Equivalent house in DC would likely have been around 500k at the time.
Compared to my early childhood in the go-go days of steelmaking, a tremendous difference. My son lives and works there, not far from Bakery Square, and never complains about the air at all nor does he report any observations like that from anybody.
They have challenges recruiting people to Pittsburgh and stories like that don't help. He walks two blocks to work. How many people in Silicon Valley can do that?
