One of the points they made that drove the tournament away was that hotels were price gouging. With more rooms now and hotels pledging more reasonable prices, it should help. A lot of local municipalities also pledged funds. Mahomett was one that did not.
I remember one reason cited for going to Peoria is that IHSA wanted it to be a 'hot ticket' and that wasn't happening at the Hall. You could hold most of the games at Parkland's gym now and it wouldn't be a hot ticket, but maybe a change would generate a little more interest for a while. Still no good venue for the associated activities, though.
