and accept that that's the appropriate time value of draft capital. but when next year rolls around, they're literally going to have an additional 2nd and 4th, and given the dried up market for QB's around the league, their other draft capital this year (already have an additional 1st and 3rd), and darnold's performance to date, I think 2, 4, 6 is a really nice haul no matter the year. I personally was expecting less.
Iíd think of this as a 3, a 5 and a 6 for Darnold
-this solidifies the "no shit, viv" assumption that jets are going QB at #2. not that it wasn't 99.99999% certain. -this is a lot less than i expected darnold to return.
but the most interesting bit is what it may say about the draft: -the panthers might not regard lance and/or fields very highly. and/or -they might be expecting lance and fields to both be gone by 8. and/or -following the 9ers/dolphins trade, the market for moving up (to 4?) might be crazy right now.
