Gorgeous and can see a lot while only walking in a short distance on paved trails, easily doable with a little one.

Seneca lake has a short boat tour that’s nice—I’d imagine most of the lakes are similar.

Letchworth state parks in between the finger lakes and Niagara Falls is really impressive—really deep canyon with a number of easily accessible overlooks. You can raft on the river—it’s calm but 2.5 is still too young for that I’m pretty sure.

On Niagara Falls, you can’t really get a very good look from the US side as a pedestrian. Option if you didn’t want to cross the border would be to do the boat tour. We did not do that but I’ve heard it is really neat.

Also, is Niagara Falls still much better on the Canadian side? A little worried about long lines at customs to get to and from Canada for a few hour trip.

Trip is in about 3 months.

Taking a 2.5 year old and the in-laws.
