of the people that unreasonably cling to the moment of conception. Neither one of them are helpful to the conversation and only make things worse for where there could be an actual equitable solution with some controls and that a large majority of people could agree with.

up until the magic curtains part or that VA legislator that said killing an infant while the mother was in labor b/c of the mother's mental state was OK by her bill. People have a natural disgust reaction to that stuff and it overshadows any of the common sense that might be had.

health of the mother and chromosome defects I think I’d sign up
On the other hand I figure (and hope to god) that the actual number of procedures that such a ban would prevent approaches zero.
FWIW I think polling on abortion is very complicated and nuanced. Yes, a majority of the country doesn't think Roe should be overturned (especially when asked like that).
At the same time, it's pretty much 50-50 on whether people are pro life or pro choice.
Then, the Mississippi case that the SC is looking at right now (15 week abortion ban) support for that outweighs those against it.
My two cents, but the people who support abortions after 15 weeks were already going to vote Democrat in the mid term and I don't really see this potential decision moving the needle a lot for 2022.
