My guess with his age is that he's playing online FPS, which does offer a competitive advantage for PC players.  Previous MessageSprout has been making noise for close to a year about wanting a gaming PC, although I’m not sure why, since he has an Xbox. But he needs to get a laptop for high school next year, and when starting to look I noticed there was a whole niche of “gaming laptops”, which actually don’t seem to be much more expensive than any other nicer laptop. So a couple of questions: 1. While it has a fancy gpu, I assume any gaming laptop would be perfectly fine doing double duty as a computer for school, right? 2. Are the gaming laptops any good, from a performance standpoint, or is that just marketing and he’d be better off sticking with his Xbox? 3. Can you play Xbox games on a gaming computer, or would he need to buy all new games if he wanted to switch to a computer? |
