how do you square that with the very last step that quite literally requires you to stray outside the lane - since 100% of the base that you need to run through is outside of the runner’s lane. If this happened halfway down the line and the runner was similarly one step inside the line, then fine. But the spirit of the rule is not meant for the time when the runner is taking their last step onto the base.  Previous Messageadd a second bag and plays like this mostly go away |
