Get away with only giving a 3.5% increase? Archived Message

Any of you that find this hard to believe should be thankful for the industry/company you work for. The only way to get meaningful raises in my industry is to get promoted, a 3.5% merit increase would probably be about the max that I’ve ever gotten or have been able to give to people who report to me. With 0% being more common. Merit increases are totally dependent on financial performance for me, and even if performance is good you better also have an above average performance review rating. Previous Message Previous Message I told my boss that might make people more angry than if they’d just left it at 3%. Previous Message Previous Message Just found out I have a whopping .5% to dish out per person over our normal. Super smart thing to do in a job market that’s on fire.
