Previous Message Seriously, 2020 had the single largest one year spike in homicides in the US, with 2021 staying around the same level. The US has terrible national crime reporting data, many people have bemoaned how we record it. Like Haighter I see the crime with my own eyes and in our cities crime reporting data. Shootings are way up, car jackings are way up, muggings are up, shop lifting is up. I get its probably hard to see living in what you described as an affluent, mostly white and Asian suburb but for those of us living in cities, we see it with our own eyes.
