    I read a short clip of one of his books thinking it was Bukowski, so I ordered it and when it arrived I saw that it had a forward from Bukowski who basically credits Fante for opening up the writing experience for him.

    I read Ask the Dust before realizing it was part of a series. Ordered the other three.

    Great stuff and I love SoCal in the 30s.
