in your budget. I don't think the Bears are gonna get any money from the state to build the stadium. Use the $2 billion you pledged to build a state of the art stadium in AH and get help with infrastructure, which the city and/or state might be willing to help with

Also want to completely overhaul the lakefront including access to the campus.

The most significant costs are related to access points to the Museum Campus from, or bypassing, DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Existing ramps would need to be expanded or moved based on the infrastructure needs of the new stadium.

Accessing the campus would be improved by connecting Columbus Drive, which runs through Grant Park to McFetridge Drive, the road that supports the Museum Campus, without the need to stop traffic on Lake Shore Drive.

Currently, the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive run underneath the complicated intersection, but the northbound lanes cross the Columbus to McFetridge transfer at grade, necessitating traffic lights and backing up incoming traffic, especially during large events like a Bears game or concert.

Allowing Lake Shore Drive to bypass the intersection either by tunneling or raising the road would be a significant cost.
Other entrances to the Museum Campus from Lake Shore Drive would be expanded or potentially relocated to move people in and out of the site quicker and smoother.

A pedestrian bridge spanning Burnham Harbor to Northerly Island is also included in the plans. The overpass would have to be tall enough to accommodate the sailboats coming in and out of Lake Michigan.

If additional pedestrian bridges connecting the Museum Campus west to the city’s grid are added to the plans the costs would balloon further.
