What's the worst part of your day?
I think I need to change my answer to the morning two days after extreme leg day. *
When you awake with morning wood and you really got to pee*
Dropping my daughter off at daycare.
When I finish a task at work but am not ready to check in with the bosses to get more work.
When did you move to LA?*
Early morning, waking up, greeted by the realization of the work stress that awaits.
I often recite, “Time to make the donuts” when I awake*
Lol - my girlfriend and I say that as well - she also tells me to have fun
Right after lunch*
The two hours it seems to take for me to fall asleep*
anytime a house listing is sent to me*
Yeah, I don't understand people who think house hunting is fun
i like looking at houses
Houses suck or just the ones you can afford suck?
the ones we can afford suck
I could barely afford our house when we bought in 2014, and it's gone up hundreds of thousands
Sell and move somewhere cheaper *
We've debated it, but we really like living here
The mornings. Just feel groggy until after lunch*
Getting up. I never get enough sleep and I just can't deal with the world. *
Probably the last hour of work. It is at that point that I realize
Probably the first 30 minutes of work
Getting out of a nice warm bed with wife and dog still all cozy
This is a per week thing, but right around when the sun starts going down on Sundays
Have you heard of the Sunday sads?
Sunday Scaries, sir*
so around 2 pm?*
The clock tick of 60 Minutes after the late CBS game... makes me sick*
But Sunday Night Football with a good beer makes Sunday nights just fine with me.
Sounds like a Hank Williams Jr. intro song lyric.*
Good thought. I'm copyrighting that or whatever. Maybe I'll sell it to Elton John
Gym...days I get to the gym, it's that. So painful these days.
On the plus side, you might get a cute reception chick to hit on you.
I've found that the only way for it not to suck is to just do it every day. *
Man, that sucks. Maybe try mixing it up a little? Do something that's active but lower key
yoga, pilates has never 'done it for me'. I don't love swimming...
it's hell. we went with the bus despite the exorbitant fee a couple years ago, and it's destressed
Yes, and all basically within a 10-minute period between when they open the doors and first bell
The the hour or so between when the kids go to bed and when they go back to bed again. *
Same. (Although I'm never home for the morning shenanigans)*
LOL. Oh good, you're back.*
All time spent in Missouri.*
parenting-related pet peeve I've experienced recently
I’m with you
Heh. I get it, but I commiserate
The thing is it wasn’t even about that
Easily the commute. Sometimes the kid is not cooperative, but the commute
Oof. An hour? That really sucks.*
Car with bluetooth and podcasts were a game changer for my commute.*
Love my commute. Headphones, no talking, maybe a light nap. Glorious*
THIS IS THE "WORST PART OF YOUR DAY" THREAD, NOOB!! GET YOUR OWN THREAD FOR POSITIVE BS!!
Ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it.
I have this t-shirt. Literally. With a picture of a red stapler under the text.*
see, that would bug me. the quote is from peter, but the stapler is milton's*
what about today? is today the worst day of your life?*
wow, that's messed up*
You need some Folgers*
This for me...and it's been a weird recent development. I used to be fine getting up.*
No one particular part is always bad
No way I'll let the end of my life be like that. If I'm not lucky enough to be hit by a meteor
Don't they just leave olds out on the glaciers in Colorado?*
Colorado law is that every year after you start collecting social security, you're taken out
I didn't kill a bear, but I did start a microdistillery making gin with local juniper berries.
I think that’s a terrible reason to have kids
That is not a "top 5 reason" people have kids. Come on.
That's not why he had children, oh my God*
It absolutely is a reason why people have kids
From what I can tell, having kids/grandkids is a huge boon when you are elderly
For sure, I would agree with the sentiment that grand kids are the reward for having kids
this is the wholesome content you just cannot find anywhere else on the internet *
I went all-in on not lasting long enough to need an old-age caretaker
Hopefully by then there will be ass-wiping robots for that sort of thing.*
LMFCO. Eat at Arby's
I feel like the "miss this" period was ages 1-8 or so.
I feel like the elementary years were special and I'll always miss them, but I usually kinda like
Where's J's friend's parent? *
The driving thing doesn't get much better. Thankfully 1) we have 2 drivers to split the driving &
Man, it is making me crazy. Right now I'm just all over the place with both of them.*
It's a full time job some nights.
I try to keep things in perspective.
Yep. I feel like an unpaid Uber driver*
Ugh. Soon j will be old enough to drive herself, though right? *
YES, and now I understand why parents get so excited about it
Dunno. My 10 y/o 5th grader rocks.
I about had a coronary yesterday
Finally had a breakthrough with my oldest.
That's a great idea. "Get dressed, or you have to hang out with dad. And we know you hate that!"
I think he just doesn't like getting left behind with the other parent. It doesn't matter the parent
No, he just hates you.
Oh there's times where he definitely hates me.
That used to be my youngest's attitude towards me. Still is some days.
Yeah, you'd think that would work for lil Taz since she loves riding the bus and does
*points and fingers* *
Haha, I feel ya--that's rough. Has she tried picking clothes out the night before?
8:30PM Are your clothes for tomorrow ready? Kid: Yes
And the best part is the attitude you get when you actually check on them
Well that would require me to remember and prompt her the night before lol
Good to see your hoops grizzle carry over to real life.*
Parenting with 3 stars
This is the best deuce post of the last 6 months minimum and needs more attention*
THIS! SO VERY THIS*
On a typical day, trying to get myself ready, make 2 lunches, and convince a 5 year old that time ex
Similar - morning routine and bedtime routine.
For me it's the physical dropoff at school
Oh that blows.
We actually live pretty close, and that's part of why this is so irritating
When the Illinois game starts*
Getting up at 5:15*
I don't want to hear it...
i've been getting up earlier and have actually been enjoying it.
I've been in a rut lately due to lack of exercise
Sitting in the living room while my wife watches The View*
Retirement isn't always so grand*
Having to take crap from Hoosiers and Boilermakers for the typical performance of my Illini sports
The first 45 minutes*
^^This. I hate getting up before 7AM (mornings suck), then getting ready for work blows.
Late night, come home
She left me roses by the stairs
being at work*
