Thought season had strong moments, with weak finish (sp)

John Smith clearly became the star and focus, as they didn’t do much with Juliana and missed some old cast. I also thought they might finish a redemption arc, only when the couple was denied passage to Japan together, that tipped me that maybe we wouldn’t get a tidy wrap-up after that touch of meanness. |
Another way it was rushed was how quickly JPS folded after almost trivial action by the BCR, who had demonstrated no real power or capacity for a competing regime.
Having Smith kill Himmler personally was a nice touch.
I suppose for a long time we really were on the “roads not taken” path. It is not really what I expected in season one, although it overlaps with alternate history. I may have preferred a straight alternate history without the actual portal, or at least where that was not the central pivot.
Well I think I can say Game of Thrones is no longer the worst series finale I saw this year.
I don't even know where to begin with that portal nonsense at the end. What was that? It was the worst part of the show and it ended with a wet fart.
I guess the American Reich is still in charge in the east but at least with a kindler gentler Obergruppenfuhrer who isn't bombing the western States. Yay?
And the western states are ruled by communists who showed up out of nowhere this season to rescue the people... but not from the "Pongs", who ended up being not that bad, but from whitey. And the communists are all black and they hate the US flag and everything the United States stood for. It was no better for their people than under the Nazis or the Japanese. If you ignore all the concentration camps for the undesirables.
And I'm really glad they spent 4 seasons telegraphing a redemption arc for John Smith only to throw it all away in the last 15 minutes. I love a good Daenerys Targaryen. At least he killed Himmler and Hoover I guess. So he's got that going for him...
What a disappointing pile of shit. Between this and the recent Jack Ryan season I am not looking forward to the Amazon revival of the Expanse. Be better Bezos.
