Well, this one has been in the works for a while and according to Fabrizio Romano, it’s a done deal — Andrew Robertson will be signing with Tottenham Hotspur momentarily after reaching full agreement on personal terms with the club. Robertson, a Scotland international fullback, is leaving Liverpool upon the expiration of his contract and will sign with Spurs on a free transfer.

It’s all done except for the official announcement. According to multiple sources online (including, yes, Fabrizio Romano), Marcos Senesi has signed his contract, confirming his free agent move from Bournemouth to Tottenham Hotspur. Senesi joins on a four year contract and becomes the second signing of the summer after the free agent signing of Scottish fullback Andrew Robertson last week.

Immediate jump in class and would let Arsenal play much better pressing / attacking stuff

He left because he’s not a backup and wanted to play for Simeone

He loved England and wouldn’t mind returning - though PSG is pursuing him the hardest. Barca are still favorites - and he’d take slightly less money to go there.

Arsenal can blow everyone out of the water and should do it, imo.

Played little time in semis of champions league and then zero minutes in the final against Milan which is what made Alvarez want to leave … Pep did get Alvarez to stay one more year.

Funny enough the very next year after that they sell him to a club he wanted to go to, to a manager he’d been talking to for well over a year for an offer that’s below his value and release clause.

None of this has to do with family or visas. It’s a non starter. But my point is still the same - he’s on record as loving England and Manchester. He would have no problems going back. That doesn’t mean Arsenal will do so. My opinion is that they should and he would absolutely be open to living in London (because he’s on record as saying as much)

Yes. Pep wanted him to stay. No he didn't want to stay.

Part of which was driven by his family.

That he'd had his head turned by interest in Spain isn't some shocking revelation. Part of the reason it was of interest to him was his family situation. Some of it was being behing Haaland. And no matter what he's "on the record" saying, he never loved England. Always wanted warmer climes.

Him not playing in the Champions League matches was disappointing to him I'm sure, but not a surprise. He wasn't playing that well, relatively, that spring and the City team that went against RM and Milan was pretty well settled -- and rightly so.

I think once we got the goal Arteta wanted to absorb all the pressure and trust his defense. Considering PSG only had 4 shots on goal and was more interested in pot shots from 22 yards out, the strategy was maybe viable. Who knows what happens if Mosquera doesn’t make the dumbest challenge any Arsenal player made all season.

Our bench was supposed to be an answer to the question and they all were poor. Madueke was the only one who showed anything. The other 4 attacking subs offered zero. Feels like a bad day of execution (which PSG impacts) and some cowardly strategy from Mikel to bunker down.

Hincapie was great but Cala chaos would’ve been interesting.

A lot of holes that need filling to get back to competing for the title. But with a good coach, I think there’s plenty of young talent to be the foundation of a top side in a couple of years, with smart transfer business. And they should be comfortably in the top 5.

Following the team just became such a slog that I stopped... really since mid fall, I watched so infrequently that I didn't really diagnose any problems beyond it was just profoundly unfun.

Part of the reason I went from extremely casual fan to appointment television almost a decade ago was that Illinois football was unwatchable and Liverpool was exciting, even when frustrating it wad still fun.

I just don't have free time right now to spend saturday morning watching a team that's going to draw their way to barely making the CL with an expensive roster

Need 2 CB at a minimum (probably needed that before the Konate talks broke down, but now that number may be 3). Another RB so we aren't asking Szoboslai to play out of position. Definitely need a RW to replace Mo and I'd love to see them bring in 2 LW, one to actually replace what Diaz brought and another so that Gakpo never sees the field again. Ideally they find a way to keep Jones, if for no other reason than they need to spend money everywhere else and I think he's a decent backup in the midfield. Sounds like Alisson is staying, which I think is an okay thing. He's been so injury prone, but again, they have to replace so many other pieces, I'd be happy to kick the Alisson discussion to the winter or next off-season

Rio is good, so they don't really need a lw.

They probably have at least the equivalent of 1.5 CB right now, so 1 more should do.

They need a RB or RW depending on where they want Frimpong to play.

And could use a few young players for cover at a bunch of spots (like at lb, rb, dm, maybe a wing if they don't like Gakpo or Chiesa).

Think Surf hit good points, although I don’t expect smaller clubs playing 1 year of European football to be snatching guys over Spurs.

They need like 6 new starters and to get rid of like a dozen guys. Which they’re not going to be able to do in 1 offseason.

They also have 6 starters coming off of major injuries, so how they navigate that will be tricky. They’ve had stupendously bad injury luck, but they also can’t really rely on any of those guys.

If they are looking to turn over at least half the squad as I heard, this is not the best year to have to do it since they will have a LOT of competition... City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool all are going to be looking for major pieces and tough to outbid. Then you have the clubs like Bournemouth, Brighton and Sunderland who will need to deepen their squads and have European football to offer.

I think they can improve by getting rid of dead weight and making some strategic signings like Senesi and Robertson, but mid-table is the likely goal next year. Maybe pinching one of the last Europe spots next year if the current teams get spread too thin and they hit on a lot more of their additions than they miss.
