How often do you all forget words while in conversation?

It happens to me multiple times a week, which seems like a lot, especially considering I don't really talk to people that often. I don't know if it's just getting older, or if there's something wrong.

All these pieces of knowledge are seen through windows, and usually the windows are uncovered and I can see through them easily any time. But sometimes I go to look through a window and it’s like someone draws curtains or snaps blinds shut over it, so I fumble around looking through cracks and fiddling with hardware trying to figure out how to clear the obstruction.

I can’t access knowledge I KNOW I have. Usually names more so than other words. The other day it took me a couple of minutes to remember my boss’s son’s name, which I’ve known well for like 11 years.

There’s a lot of dementia in my mom’s family so this type of shit makes me nervous.
