Here's my first venture into that wardrobe staple of every young woman in the 1950's ... the shirtwaist dress. Gene wears a somewhat elevated style of this basic, since her dress is a lightweight silk print. The dress is fully lined. A cotton dress might call for a petticoat, but our silk skirt prefers to fall softly over its organza lining.
