He defined the difference perfectly, factually. Your "beliefs" may or may not be facts. What they lack is...evidence.

If you were on a witness stand and merely blurted your opinions and stated them as facts, you'd be torn apart.

And when you say, "To me it is true" all you're doing is restating your beliefs, your biases.
