It was the Lawson family, and the ranch was located about 30 miles northeast of Stockton, in what is now Lake Comanche.
I'm not far from there in fact we fish there all the time from late spring to fall. There is now a historical marker located on the south shore of the lake for the Lawson Hill Ranch.
Just a bit of history.
