Republicans are trying to do a little soul searching following their gross defeat in the midterms, but one of the reasons they did so poorly has been glaringly obvious for quite some time: They killed their base. Another new study confirms that twice as many Republicans died from COVID than Democrats, and the authors of the study say that it is very likely this played a role in the midterm results.
