Online Learning Management Systems are a constant topic of conversation in both my department and PLC meetings. Our district has heavily invested in Canvas, but because of the time it takes to set up and front load a course, many teachers don't even finish a first attempt in using it. Google Classroom is a popular favorite amongst many teachers, but for me, it has some limited functionality. As an English teacher, I suppose I have some pretty specific needs. And I am always looking for ways to reduce the time it takes in grading essays so students can receive valuable and timely feedback. Since I found that I had to take extra steps in adding rubrics to assignments, I started shying away from Google Classroom. I'm excited to delve more into some of these alternatives and see what they offer.
