temperatures slipped into the lower 20s Celsius. All other areas remained warm with highs in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Near dawn temperatures this morning slipped to 9 in some of the traditionally coolest locations in southern Sul de Minas while most temperatures were 10 to 15. Less cool air is advertised for Brazil
coffee areas during the second half of next week relative to that advertised earlier this week. The risk of frost remains minimal for the next week to ten days, although some cooling is still possible during the middle part of next week and again in the following weekend.
Rainfall is expected to stay minimal in this coming week, but some showers are possible when the coolest conditions arrive late next week.
Very little rainfall is expected in coffee production areas during the next ten days.
Some rain will occur daily near the upper Espirito Santo and Bahia coasts, but interior crop
areas will rarely receive significant rain until late next week. A frontal system expected late next week will bring 1 to 9 millimeters of rain to crop areas from Sul de Minas into northern Parana. A local rain total of more than 13 millimeters is possible, but it will be rare.
Cooler air is expected late next week and into the following weekend at which time lows may slip to the range of 5 to 9 degrees from northern Parana to Sul de Minas while readings of 9 to 15 occur farther north. Some areas in Bahia and northern Minas Gerais may not cool below the teens and a few locations near the coast may continue to report lows near 20. Most low temperatures through the coming week will be 10 to 15 from Parana to Sul de Minas and 13 to 19 farther north with a few lower 20s in eastern Bahia.
Afternoon high temperatures will be in the middle 20s through the lower 30s most
often in the coming full week with a few readings in the lower 20s today and during mid-week next week in Parana and Southwestern Sao Paulo. Some high temperatures will cool to the teens during the cooler days late next week into the first weekend of July.
