Re: ICE Stocks Are Down 36 370 Bags Last Week
The depletion of ICE stocks has been a mystery for some time. Investment.com that Sagal cites may be correct but my rule is that if ICE stocks are withdrawn ttogether with other global stocks, like say 1997, then we can say that there is a shortage of coffee. After the drought climax of 2014/2015 stocks were being depleted as the market was dropping. The Real was crashing and producers were aggressively selling.
Today, do we see evidence of depleting global stocks? I don't think so. Yet the reason why stocks are dropping remains uncertain. For now the outright market is unphased and unaffected by the falling stocks. The spread market has been very steady, except for the front spreads. The reason could be a combination of depleting stocks and forward selling, which appears to be origin. It would be nice if we had better data on world stocks.
