Re: We need to wait for estimates of the 20/21 crop of Brazil, which for the biennial may be record.
Brazil's 2019/20 crop was already a record, but lower than necessary. Even though the 2021/22 crop is larger than the 2019/20 crop, it will be of low bienniality. Arabica coffee trees in the positive years are very stressed by the great crop and the following year produce less. Understand that coffee-filled branches do not have the energy to grow much more and produce the same, this is the cause of bienniality. A tree full of fruits, the fruits drain energy for themselves, and the tree runs out of strength to vegetate. So if by 2020 we will have a good coffee crop, by 2021 we will have a small coffee crop, always within the biennial. This is natural, not man's will.
