Origins coffee sector is in an emergency situation, they don't have the funds to fertilize and have colossal debts with Financial institutions and Banks. Literally many agricultures are losing their land.
Currently, with the measures to cope with the COVID -19 the situation have become worse. There is not enough labor to pick and there is no regular domestic transportation now. Origins are not moving their grains to the plants' facilities for processing and bagging.
The situation of the current delay of picking is worsening their precarious situation, creating more serious financing problems, but what is worst, to an irreparable loss in production.
Although governments are committed to guaranteeing the exportation process (mainly the functioning of exporting ports), coffee grains are not reaching the plants of processing. Coffee is not going to reach the ports on time. This situation is creating potential shipments delays, washout, and other problems as well. Sustainable losses could amount if the governments of those coffee countries extend the current status or don't lift the restrictions for normal mobility, transportation or modify current their Emergency status.
