The National Supply Company (Conab) found that private coffee stocks at the end of the 2018/19 harvest were 13.1 million 60-kilogram bags, a volume 1.5% higher than at the end of 2017/2018, of 12 , 9 million bags. According to the survey released on Wednesday, 5, Arabica coffee corresponded to 87% of the total stored beans, reaching 11.4 million tons.
"This volume represents 34% of the total arabica production in 2018/2019 and 23% of the national production registered in the same year," said Conab, in a note. "The remaining 13% informed refer to the storage of the conilon, which represents something around 1.7 million tons of the private stock raised".
The study was carried out between March and May this year and makes it possible to know the transit stock on March 31, the date that marked the entry of the new 2019/2020 harvest.
