You could of course be correct. But letís be clear the coffee has to be washed or semi washed not naturals to qualify as deliverable. Now if you think that the market is paying large premiums for Colombian or Central American coffee and some of this Brazilian coffee is passing grade at the exchange is your best market delivery at 6 cents under. Perhaps obtaining the grade from ICE is a marketing technique to sell to roasters that would only accept Colombian or Centams. Nothing says that they have to deliver this coffee. an ICE certificate for sure increases the value of the coffee. Smart move on the part of the commercials involved. Why not run all the Brazilian semi washed through the exchange, if it passes itís value goes up and a premium can be had.
Maybe some commercials are having difficulty delivering on contracts and this may help them out. All conjecture on my part but I doubt this coffee will ever be delivered my opinion only.
