With the month of October coming to a close and with the shipment statistics already at hand, the Vietnam General Statistics office have estimated that the coffee exports for the month of October shall be 1% higher than the same month last year, at a total of approximately 1,500,000 bags.  This they say, shall result in the countries coffee exports for the first ten months of this year to be 1.3% lower than the same period last year, at a total of 22,333,333 bags.
The General Statistics office of Vietnam have at the same time estimated that the value of the countrys coffee exports for the first ten months of this year, shall be 0.7% lower than the same period last year, at a total of approximately 2.3 billion US Dollars
There has been news overnight meanwhile that typhoon Molave has made landfall across Vietnams central coastline and thus far infrastructural damage has been reported. Reports suggest that Molave will trigger more heavy rains in the central region, including the coffee belt central highlands in the coming days. Typhoon Molave is seen to be one of the strongest weather systems to move across Vietnam in the past two decades, the strength and impact of the storm will be continue to monitored as it moves ashore and further inland.
The December 2020 to January 2021 contract arbitrage between the New York and London markets narrowed yesterday: to register this at 43.90 usc/Lb. This equates to 41.81% price discount for the London Robusta coffee market.
The Certified washed Arabica coffee stocks held against the New York exchange was seen to increase by 5,479 bags yesterday, to register these stocks at 1,146,813 bags, with 94% of these certified stocks being held in Europe at a total of 1,078,053 bags and the remaining 7% being held in the USA at a total 68,760 bags. There was meanwhile a smaller in number 5,366 bags increase to the number of bags pending grading for this exchange; to register these pending grading stocks at 55,538 bags.
