I don't know anyone talking about increased total consumption during C-19. What informed observers are saying is that the at home consumption and consumption outside the coffee shop/restaurant scene has increased more than expected and offset a lot of the lost retail consumption. Meaning that the C-19 impact on consumption at the consumer level was less than expected.

As a point of reference, would note that there is NO real bulletproof data on stocks, consumption or production and there never has been. All the data is estimated or guesstimated, including pre and post crop data.
